Last week we had some hot, sunny days and afternoon temperatures in the full sun have been high. Many farms experienced moderate heat stress on Monday. However day length is shortening (the equinox is this week) and the evenings have been cooler such that the 24hr average DHLI index figure has fallen. It has been below the heat-stress thresholds for most farms from Tuesday onwards although the more southern farms returned to mild heat stress conditions at the end of the week.
