Despite being October the weather and soils remain warm, the grass is still healthy and growing and cows are still grazing. Some afternoons have been rather warm but with the shorter day length and cooler nights the cows can probably cope with their heat load.
As we are now into October this will be the last weekly post for this year. In the coming weeks we will summerise the heat stress situation over the summer. Once we have discussed the results with the monitor farms I will post them here.
